Enlightened view of Native Americans on film / Katina M. Stamper. - First edition - 116 pages ; 23 cm

Years of false depictions have created a laundry list of gross inaccuracies that have been adapted as truth through erroneous physical, cultural, and religious portrayals of Native Americans on film. Although filmmakers might not have intended to facilitate such widespread injustices, they have done much to damage the historical representation and preservation of an already misunderstood population of people. The consequences of these otherwise "entertaining" movies have taken years to be fully realized, perhaps much too late to alter perceptions; however, efforts at correction must still be continually sought.

Even if you don't view all of the films/documentaries that I have chosen to present, I provide an overview of the plots and pertinent dialogue. I invite you to view the history of Native Americans with a fresh set of eyes and question what you think you know about their history and culture.

I offer my sincere thanks and gratitude for your interest.
